Map & Areas - Malaga to Benalmadena
The three areas that make up the municipality of Benalmádena remain very popular with tourists and the Spanish alike. The attractive marina is often visited by Antonio Banderas who comes from the area and the town retains traces of the architectural influences left by its historical inhabitants. The charmingly named Arroyo de la miel or honey river completes the municipality.
A walk along the promenade can lead you as far as Torremolinos, passing pleasant sea views and the delightful village of La Carihuela on the way.
Torremolinos is a popular resort, renowned for its clean, sandy beaches; wide choice of hotels and restaurants and unparalleled variety of entertainment. During the height of summer Torremolinos draws the younger crowd to enjoy its hectic nightlife, while in winter it has a more traditional Spanish feel. As the first resort to be developed on the Costa del Sol in the high rise 50s and 60s, its quiet village demeanor has been lost forever. However, those that look carefully can find some of its old fishing village charm dotted amongst the exclusive boutiques and gift shops that make up its town centre.Maps of the Coast
